## Highlights

- Three nights just outside Ubud, among the rice fields instead of in the traffic
- Walking through the Sidemen valley, with Mount Agung in the background
- Snorkelling from the beach in Amed, between the fishing boats
- Waterfalls and coffee plantations in the cool mountain village of Munduk
- The rice terraces of Jatiluwih on the day you fly home

Ten days in Bali without feeling like you're in a theme park. You stay in four places, a few nights each, so you're not packing every day. [Dek Leonk](/en/about/dek-leonk) picks you up at the airport and drives you from the [rice fields around Ubud](/en/destinations/ubud) to the [east coast](/en/destinations/amed), then through the north [up into the mountains](/en/destinations/munduk). The well-known places are on the route too, but at the times when they're quiet.

## Program step by step

- **Days 1–3: Ubud and around** Dek Leonk waits in the arrivals hall and drives you an hour or an hour and a half to a place to stay just outside Ubud. You have two full days: a morning walk along the Campuhan ridge, the market, a temple in a village rather than in the centre, or simply a day by the pool.
- **Days 4–5: Sidemen** An hour's drive east is a valley where life still revolves around rice. You walk along the terraces with a guide from the village, visit a songket weaving workshop and, when the sky is clear, see Mount Agung rising above everything.
- **Days 6–7: Amed** On the way you stop at the Tirta Gangga water palace at eight in the morning, before the groups arrive. Amed is a string of fishing villages on black sand beaches. You snorkel from the shore, or ask Dek Leonk to arrange a boat trip at sunrise.
- **Days 8–9: Munduk** You drive along the north coast and up into the mountains, with a stop at Sekumpul waterfall. Munduk is a few degrees cooler. You walk past coffee and clove plantations to the waterfalls.
- **Day 10: Jatiluwih and departure** On the way to the airport you walk for an hour through the rice terraces of Jatiluwih, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Dek Leonk drops you off in good time for your flight.

## Frequently asked questions

**Can I do it in eight days?**

Yes. Then we leave out Munduk, or you spend one night less in Ubud. We don't recommend this route in less than eight days; you would mostly be sitting in the car.

**How long are we in the car each day?**

Usually one to two hours, with stops. The longest drive is from Amed to Munduk: three to four hours, via the north coast and a waterfall.

**Can I add a few days at the beach?**

Yes. A few nights in Sanur, Nusa Lembongan or the Gili Islands at the end fit well. Dek Leonk arranges the boat.
