Jatiluwih is the largest continuous area of rice terraces in Bali and part of the UNESCO subak World Heritage site. Subak is the system of channels and water sharing that Balinese farmers have used since the ninth century, organised from the water temples. There are marked walking trails of one to four hours. Coaches come during the day, but they stay at the viewpoint. A few hundred metres further on, you're on your own.
